Vasilisa Kuzmina is a Russian-Iranian writer and director with a bold, distinctive voice. Her debut web series Alisapremiered at SXSW 2020, followed by her first feature Nika (2022), which competed at SXSW and won the Special Jury Prize for Outstanding Acting.

She is currently pursuing her MFA in Directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory (Class of 2025), one of the world’s leading film schools. Blending her cultural heritage with cinematic rigor, Vasilisa brings depth, defiance, and a unique vision to every project she creates.
